EV charger installation in Belfast: installed properly, certified, no faff

A home EV charger should be safe, well-positioned for the way you actually park, and properly load-assessed against your incoming supply. Evolv installs domestic and workplace EV chargepoints across Belfast and the wider NI area. The install is fully BS 7671-compliant and includes any consumer unit upgrade needed to support a 7kW unit.

  • Home EV charger installs including a 7kW Type-2 unit
  • Workplace chargepoints using commercial-grade, OZEV-grade units
  • Load assessment included, so we won't sell you a charger your supply can't safely deliver
  • Sensible cable routing: front of house, side, garage, off-street
  • Compliant with the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021

Quick answers

Do I need a 7kW or 22kW charger at home in Belfast?

For almost all NI homes the answer is 7kW. 22kW chargers need a three-phase supply, which most domestic properties don't have. A 7kW unit will full-charge most EVs overnight on standard tariffs.

Can I get a grant for an EV charger in Northern Ireland?

The UK government's OZEV EV chargepoint grant is open to renters and flat-owners (not single-occupancy homeowners). Workplaces can claim under the Workplace Charging Scheme. We can supply the documentation you need.

How long does an EV charger installation take?

A straightforward install at a home with adequate supply is half a day. If a consumer unit upgrade or earth-mat is required it becomes a full day. We quote both elements upfront.
